UVA URSI (Bladder, Kidney and UTI Care)

Uva Ursi strengthens the urinary passages and is good for inflammation in any part of the urinary system. Uva Ursi stimulates kidney activity and can be used as a urinary antiseptic for kidney and bladder infections being very effective for acid urine and to treat blood in the urine. It has a direct sedative and tonic effect to the bladder walls, imparting tone and decreasing excessive discharges.

Uva Ursi is an astringent herb with strong affinity for the urinary system. It has also been used to help correct bed wetting, bladder diseases, cystitis, kidney congestion and infection ruins of the kidneys and urinary tract. It is also said to have the ability to dissolve kidney stones.

Due to the proximity of the prostate to the urinary tract in males, it has also been used in prostate remedies. Uva Ursi produces potent antiseptic action in the kidney tubules. Uva Ursi has been shown to work in various types of bladder and kidney disease. These include pyelitis, nephritis, urolithiasis, and urinary catarrh. Uva Ursi has also been used in cystitis and urethritis, for urogenital inflammations and as a urinary antiseptic.

Uva Ursi also increases the flow of urine and cleanses the spleen. Uva Ursi is used for womb problems and is very good as a postpartum remedy to prevent infections. Uva Ursi  added to a hot tub of water makes a good bath for after childbirth, inflammations, hemorrhoids and skin infections. It can be used as a douche for vaginal infections and other problems in the pelvic region.”

Traditional use: 30-60 drops in 8oz of water up to 3x per day
